News from the week includes Moira's
return to China (today) and Eleanor's intention to submit her thesis on Love at
Work on the 17th Feb. I'm hoping to be able to put Maggie's thesis in the
living theory section of actionresearch.net in early March. Je Kan is
responding to server failures in his e-assessment of student progress at
Fukuoka University and will let us know if these have been resolved in a
rescheduling of the e-assessments.
Alan, William, Shaun, Marian and Yaqub will all be contributing to the
international conference on the nature of addiction in the Assembly Rooms Bath,
19th-21st April 2006. You can access the programme at:

and the advisory board at:

Visitors joining this Monday
evening's conversation from Akershus University College, Norway, wish to
explore possibilities for the development of an action research doctoral
programme at their College. They include:
Gerd Astrid Kvernmo, Grete Haaland
Sund, Hilde Hiim, Haege Nore, Icara Holmesland, Jan Staalhane, Jorunn Dahlback,
Tove Berg, Trond Smistad, Knut Alfred Myren, Sigrid Gjotterud.
(A great opportunity to introduce
Alan's ideas on Inclusionality from: http://www.bath.ac.uk/~bssadmr/inclusionality/ and Yaqub's ideas on
postcolonial theory from http://www.rac.ac.uk/~paul_murray/default.htm )
Jean, Joan and Jack are organising
action research workshops in South Africa on the 27th and 28th February and on
the 2nd and 3rd March. Details can be accessed from the What's New section of http://www.actionresearch.net . From the What's New
section you can also access the conference flyer with registration details and
guidelines for
the submission of proposals for the
Practitioner-Research Conference at St. Mary's College, Twickenham, on the 13th
& 14th July. Joan and Jack are giving keynotes and it would be good to see
as many of us there as can
make it.
Marie has continued with her
educational nudges and a recent outcome can be seen in a gathering on Saturday
the 11th March, in the Department of Education, for Practitioner Researchers.
